Throughout the hot summer months, many ponds and lakes are susceptible to nuisance algae blooms and unwanted aquatic weed growth. RAS is able to control algae, submerged plants, floating leaf plants, emerged plants, free floating plants, etc. (Click here for common aquatic plants) At your free consultation, we will discuss the plants that are undesirable and can be managed or eliminated as well as beneficial plants that you would like to keep for the water quality, aesthetics, fish habitat, etc.
Our most popular maintenance program is season long beginning in May and ending late September.
Our services will include monitoring of the waters to determine water temperature, weed species present and stage of weed development. The appropriate herbicide and time of application is then determined and the treatment is made via boat, atv, or motor powered backpack. Throughout the remainder of the season, the waters will be inspected at least twice per month and treated as required. A written report will be submitted summarizing each inspection. If a problem arises between our inspections, your concern will be responded to immediately.
All of the products we use are registered with the EPA and all of our technicians are licensed by the Department of Agriculture.

Cattail Control
Cattails are an emergent plant that can help prevent shoreline erosion. But they also can overtake a pond. The pictures below are of a customer’s pond that we were contracted to control the overgrown cattails.
